Congratulations Maggie!!

On June 6th, 2023, Maggie successfully defended their MPH thesis entitled “An Overview of the Substance Use Landscape in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.” Well done!

Maggie’s Master of Public Health thesis research focuses on the context of substance use in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Maggie’s thesis examines the impact of the gap in substance use and harm reduction policy at the provincial level from an intersectional lens. Her work proposes evidence-based policy options at different levels of government to equitably address health disparities. Her work also examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the drug supply, substance use service access, and interactions with the police from the perspective of people with lived and living experience of substance use.
