Congratulations to Dr. Amanda Froehlich-Chow for having been selected as this year’s recipient of the USask Graduate Schools Award for Faculty Excellence in Research, Scholarly, and Artistic Work (RSAW)!

Congratulations to Dr. Amanda Froelich-Chow on receiving the USask Graduate Schools Award for Faculty Excellence in Research, Scholarly, and Artistic Work (RSAW)!  The committee was extremely impressed with the strength of her nomination, as they indicated in their letter of congratulations (the text of which is included below)!

"On behalf of the adjudication committee, I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected as this year’s recipient of the USask Graduate Schools Award for Faculty Excellence in Research, Scholarly, and Artistic Work (RSAW). This award recognizes and celebrates outstanding research, scholarly, and artistic achievements and their impact across the School of Environment and Sustainability, the School of Public Health, and the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. The committee reviewed a highly competitive pool of nominations, evaluating each dossier based on the significance of accomplishments, supporting evidence, and letters of support, with careful attention to diverse forms of impact across research, community, and training contexts.

The committee was highly impressed by the strength of your nomination, particularly your authentic and impactful community-engaged research, your leadership in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion, andyour demonstrated commitment to mentorship and training. Your nomination highlights that your work isco-designed with community and grounded in genuine partnerships, reflecting a thoughtful integration of research excellence with community impact. Support letters further emphasized that you “center reciprocity, relational accountability, and reconciliation… as daily practices,” and consistently create “structures where community Knowledge Holders, students, and academic partners contribute meaningfully and equitably.”

Reviewers also noted the strong support from your referees, including clear evidence of the real-world impact of your work within communities. Your work was described as “deeply respected” and impactful, with partners emphasizing its meaningful contributions to community wellbeing. Your nomination stood out for demonstrating not only scholarly achievement but also sustained and meaningful contributions beyond academia.
