SPH Students Shine at 2026 GSA Awards

Congratulations Megan McConnell , Sidra Uzair and Ibrahiem Essalah on their success at this year''s Graduate Student Association Awards!

 Congratulations Megan McConnell on winning thethe GSA Award for "Professional Excellence"! 

Megan convocates from SPH in June, she feels that the major driver of winning that award was her practicum with the City of Prince Albert and the Saskatchewan Health Authority where she worked as a policy analyst, something she was very successful at thanks to herpreparatory coursework with the SPH. 
Megan's future isn't completely planned out yet, but she has a continued interest in contributing to healthy policies for Saskatchewan communities, with a particular interest in women’s health.

We are also very happy to share that two of our very recent School of Public Health graduates and current members of the Vatanparast Nutritional Epidemiology Lab (VNEL) lab were selected as finalists in the following GSA Award cantegories

 

Sidra Uzair – Research Excellence in Interdisciplinary Studies 

Ibrahiem Essalah – Award for Professional Excellence

 

Being named finalists in these highly competitive categories at the university level is a significant achievement, as is the supportive environment we are building together in our school.
