Tuition Deposit Information for International Graduate Students
The Acting Provost has approved a tuition deposit for all international graduate students effective to align with the implementation of the federal Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) requirement (PALs implementation date TBD).
Tuition deposits of $1,000 will be required from all international applicants who accept offers of admission. Students accepted into a program that currently has a $1,000 or greater deposit required will be exempt from this new deposit requirement. The deposit must be paid prior to a PAL being requested on their behalf. The deposit will be applied directly to their student account and counted against their first-term tuition and fees.
Admitted students will be able to pay the deposit through Flywire or by credit card. The deposits are non-refundable in most circumstances. Exceptions eligible for a refund are:
- A student’s study permit application was unsuccessful.
- We are unable to endorse a student for a provincial attestation letter (PAL), such as if the quotas for certain programs have been reached.
- A student experienced a serious, unanticipated medical/emergency situation that prevented them from beginning their studies at USask. These will be considered case-by-case and will require supporting documentation.
Refunds are subject to a $100 administrative fee.
