Congratulations on a successful defence!

The School of Public Health is pleased to announce the following successful MSc. defence: Britanie Thomas

By Tyson Brown

Congratulations Britanie!

On December 2nd, 2021, Britanie successfully defended her MPH Thesis - ‘An Overview of Barriers, Facilitators, and Themes Associated with Occupational Therapy Practice in Canada’

Britanie’s Master of Public Health thesis identified occupational therapy as an under-utilized resource within Canadian primary care. Her work provides possible barriers and facilitators for occupational therapy’s inclusion within Canadian primary care and provides recommendations for expanding occupational therapy’s roles and services within Canadian primary care. Her work also compares occupational therapy’s roles and services within Canada and Australia (a country identified as similar to Canada) for the purposes of identifying themes and gaps associated with occupational therapy’s inclusion within primary care.
