Meet the 2016-17 SPH Student Association Executive

School of Public Health (SPH) students have elected new members to their student association executive, following the annual fall election process.

The School of Public Health Student Association (SPHSA) executive represents the entire SPH student body, connecting students in all five of the School’s programs by organizing social events, developing new initiatives, and facilitating professional development opportunities.

The executive’s top priorities for the coming academic year include developing a mentorship program for first year Master of Public Health (MPH) students. “We are excited to get our mentorship program underway, to make sure that first year students entering the MPH program receive support and guidance from the more experienced second years” explained SPHSA President, Megan Steeves. The executive also plans to reconnect with graduated students of the SPH to form an alumni association.

In addition to these new initiatives, the SPHSA executive looks forward to planning and hosting a range of social events over the year, including the annual Snow Ball, held in early December, and the Grad Ball, held late in the winter term.
