Breaking the ice on the 3rd floor

Meet and greet event

Faculty, staff and leaders from the School of Public Health, the department of Community Health and Epidemiology and the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition gathered for food, conversation and fun at a ‘get to know your neighbours’ meet and greet event on October 6.

The event encouraged occupants of the third floor offices in E-Wing of the Health Sciences Building to ‘break the ice’ and get better acquainted with one another.

The event also served as a welcome into new leadership roles for Dr. Kishor Wasan, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, Dr. Anne Leis, Head of the department of Community Health and Epidemiology, and Dr. Nazeem Muhajarine, Interim Executive Director of the School of Public Health.

Said Dr. Muhajarine: "When this new building was created we were intentional about using this space for creative collaborations--for research, teaching and outreach. This 'meet and greet' event is a deliberate positive step taken towards achieving this intention. I hope there will be many more of these types of events, not necessarily planned, but spontaneous interactions between and among faculty, students and staff of all three units."
